Thanks for the report about Notts good to hear. Grades permitting a good choice it sounds . The issue some will have is that if they have dedicated years to tennis and say only taken two a levels Notts probably would not accept them into a course. USA being the only choice for a tennis uni and for those who cannot afford this will probably lose players. Luckily my lad is academic and his predicted grades means Notts Loughborough bath etc are within his reach. But what a shame for those who end up in the middle. it wont change for a long time but needs to. I know of two who came back from USA had a great time But not top of the tree. But now really struggling here back in uk as their degrees are just not opening the doors. Losing out to the bath graduates in psychology for example. Of course there are huge opportunities in the US but what we need to do and that means the LTA too is encourage more to stay rather than chase a dream that we all know is very difficult to achieve
Al we had drummer into us in his last years at academy was utr america etc. Nothing really promoting staying here

There is information around the US vs UK pathways eg Tennis Smart (I am sure others do too) provides an overview of both pathways taking into account tennis, academics, budget etc. The US is not for everyone, I know several players who chose Bath or Luffs rather than the US.
Luffs does offer a foundation year for athletes with lower A level grades, but the others require all As or AAB for many courses. American unis offer a wide range of entry criteria and perhaps cater for students with a wider range of academic abilities. Agree those who don't have the top grades are limited as to choice of UK uni (Leeds Met??).
When comparing career prospects, fortunately it's not just about which uni you went to - connections/degree subject/attitude etc can all have an impact. I am sure Harvard or Ivy League would 'open doors' in the UK??
There is a webpage for the schedule, scores and results. Lots of information there, but not easy to find specifics. I'll keep eyes on it for news of the Brits, Scott Duncan, Ryan Peniston, Emily Arbuthnott and Holly Hutchinson
R1(L32) H. Hutchinson / E. Arbuthnott v S. Tatavarthy / V. Chaudhari (IND)
R1(L32) S. Duncan / R Peniston v K. Pearson / S. Jones (AUS)
Any idea what rankings they are giving for the players ? Emily is noted as 316 singles and 658 doubles which doesn't seem to relate to any ranking list I can find.
Including the old-timers :smilers: - we have a couple who crop up each time there's a uni tennis thingy - I bumped the thread for the last uni World games - perpetual students - and why not..... hope they all have a great time
