Looks like both Kieran & Scott lost in the first round of the BUCS singles finals where Fillp Veger, a Croatian with a CH of 478 beat Issac Stoute in the final. Kieran losing to Veger and Scott retiring at a set down.

They did however manage to get to the final of the doubles, losing in a MTB to Tiarnan Brady and Ben Jones and beating Issac Stoute and partner on the way!

on further inspection it looks like scott and kieran play doubles together every week for stirling in bucs so maybe not as much of an upset as we think. it also dosn't look like the americans had played together before

Another pair of our doubles WCSs almost sent the third seeds packing:

L16:  (3) Alessandro Bega & Lucas Miedler (ITA/AUT) CR 670 (429+241) defeated (WC) Jacob Fearnley & Connor Thomson CR 2898 (1449+1449) by 3-6 7-6(7) [10-6]  hmm

Not a bad effort!

Not a bad effort! 

 

What a shame about that second set tiebreak.  All those junior events bearing fruit. But hope they enjoyed it and the crowd were behind them.
