Thought I'd look in on the TB. That went very well

Then noticed that the third game of the second set was going on for ever so time to look in again. Can't win them all.

1-2*

Yes.  Bellucci broke after Jay had saved 5 BPs.

Now 3-4*

Bellucci took the 2nd set 6-3 and Jay was looking a bit tired towards the end of that set. I hope he has the energy to mount a challenge in the decider.

MTO for Bellucci though. Left foot/ankle.

Think Jay has run out of steam now.

Jay battling his heart out at the moment and *1-4 doesn't do him justice. Was broken in a long game and has created 4 BPs of his own in this set but hasn't been able to convert any of them. Legs not quite working as they did at the start.

It's a very intense match and you are correct, the score may look bad but the actual points seems pretty close.

L16: Thomaz Bellucci (BRA) WR 217 (CH 21 July 2010) beat Jay Clarke WR 227 6-7(3) 6-3 6-3

No shame in that result. Jay played his heart out and battled until the end. Bellucci was just that bit stronger physically at the back end of the match. Hardly surprising for a seasoned pro playing an up and coming teenager.

Loads of positives today. Just not quite the result.
