L32: (WC) Lloyd Glasspool WR 476 (CH = 282 in July 2016) vs (7) Marek Jaloviec (CZE) WR 299 (CH = 244 last November)
The Czech was born in Ostrava, but clearly didn't fancy the tournament in his birthplace on clay.
L32: (3) David Guez (FRA) WR 266 (CH = 116 in July 2010 - he's now 35) vs (WC) Aidan McHugh WR 1245 (CH = 1244 last week)
L32: (6) Kaichi Uchida (JPN) WR 292 (= CH) vs (WC) James Ward WR 772 (CH = 89 in July 2015) L32: Qualifier vs (WC) Jonny Gray WR 597 (CH = 538 at the start of this month)
The other players Dan could face, should he qualify, are Alessandro Bega (WR 350), Jared Hiltzik (WR 411) & Lucas Miedler (8/WR 302).
Thirded! I've said this before, but when Dan is at the top of his game, there is no player I'd rather watch. The point construction is just beautiful.
Where are you getting the live scores from? They don't seem to be on the ATP's protennis live app.
Bit late to mention it now, but you probably needed just to scroll down (on the left) for the tournament to appear (having selected 'Challengers' from menu).
Cheers Julia! you would have thought that after 30 years in technology I could have figured that our for myself!
Congrats to Dan, I look forward to watching during the week. I think Monday will be a quiet day with no fqr matches to be played.
So pleased for Dan, but sad it was at the expense of Ed.
Ed will get the old Daddy funded Wild Cards for the grass season thats other wont get so he ll be fine.
Well done Dan, one more win for a ranking.
Eh not sure where you're getting that preferential treatment angle from. Ed's received only one ATP main draw wild card in his entire career (at Queens 2013), despite being a top 250 player at one point
Surprised nobody has commented on the biggest mystery of this event: why has glasspool been given MD wildcard. His form has been so poor for 2 years now. Should have gone to Evo or Finn.
Almost by default I reckon. No idea if Finn showed any interest in competing here. He's currently in a run of Tunisia futures. Rightly or wrongly I don't think Evo was ever likely to get a MD WC here.
I might be being ridiculously blinkered, but I actually think the kids did pretty well here. I don't know why anyone talks about them being lambs to the slaughter.
Losing 4 & 1, or 0 & 3, is not a whitewash - there will be a lot of positives to take away from those matches. And Connor's score, obviously, was very respectable.
It's exactly what the kids need and what they don't really get because we don't have the team tennis of the continent.
Great to see Dan get the win after so long out of the game. Shame for Ed who couldve got a much easier draw but great opportunity now for Evo to get his ranking back immediately. And then... who knows?
Dan has a 3-1 career H2H record against Sam Barry: albeit, nearly 3 years since they last played. But 6 1/2 years since Barry beat Dan

Lacko the top seed (Bhambri must have withdrawn) is the only player in the top 200. All of the other seeds are below that. Being frank, I think there are some top Futures events that are equal to this in terms of the entry list. The way the draw looks, James Ward must fancy his chances of getting a win or two. And Dan wont be frightened by whichever player he faces, if he gets through of course

Indeed. It may be called a rout but seriously did anyone expect anything more? The guys in general did as well if not indeed better than could be expected in the circumstances considering comparative results and experience or lack of it.
That we were left seemingly almost looking for bodies just to actually make it a 16 man draw and to play a seed ( 7 of whom are ranked within the top 600 and the 8th WR 849 ) straight off is certainly not their fault and they acquitted themselves decently. I hope that it was a good experience in general.
In a sense it arguably did look in advance like "lambs to the slaughter" but actually the lambs did pretty well and were not generally slaughtered.
