Just watched Gray live never in a million years would he be a Main draw Wc at Wimbledon he has nice shots but nothing to trouble top players I cannot see him ever breaking top 300. The Finn outpowered him with nice variety of pace Gray lost about 8 games in a row second set I was disappointed first time I have seen him.
Ive seen him twice as well and concur with this, ITF Plodder Level at the moment with the Pauffleys, Hoyts etc.

Thanks for the report. Pity re Jonny, though the Wimbledon MD WC suggestion has seemed a very minority one. He's just about in the QWC queue.
Any other forum regulars heading along this week? Thursday and possibly Friday for me. I doubt any Brits will be left by Saturday but if somehow there are then I ll go along then as well.

A little harsh but, to be honest, he's already done way better than I expected when I saw him at age 17. And good on him. But, yes, he's not on my list either.
An unnecessarily harsh term generically and not applicable to someone who improved so much last year. He showed excellent ranking progression 1364 to 550 is that plodding? He has just turned 21 so obviously not on the trajectory of someone who is 18 and ranked 550 but then he was destined to be a challenger player. Credit where credit is due

what's the status of Alastair gray , haven't seen his name for a while. Has he retired?

He's at college in the US and is doing very well indeed over there.
I'd have gone tomorrow if I could. But can't make it. Unlikely later days either. I assume pay at the door. Doesn't look exactly sold out.
yes i think you can pay at the door, and jaggy i may go back saturday depending on who's playing. I was there on monday and saw some real quality. If you can i recommend watching olaso v glassspool later today both have really nice games.

Hes at TCU the same programme that Cam played on and one of their better players in time potentially their best, they Obviously did a great job with Cam and their present no 1 Alex Rybakov (JCH 14) age 21 is presently Ranked about 560 but flying high on a similar trajectory to Cam in college tennis. potentially a great opportunity for Alistair who could be next man in at no 1 should Alex leave as a junior for the pro tour. Interesting to note that should Johnny have gone down the college route he too would be in the mix and avoiding the term ITF plodder for perhaps another 3 or 4 years.
