Fair play to Miedler. Dan could have won in straight sets, if he'd kept up his level from the first set but once he let Miedler back into it, he really stepped up a gear
Pretty good serving from the Austrian you have to say, serving for the match and hits four unreturned serves in a row. Still Dan's on the board and whilst I'd have bet my life on him winning that after the first set, Miedler improved as Dan's level dropped and by the time he'd picked it up again it was too late, never really got into a Miedler service game after the first one of the second set.
First set was good. Serve went, errors crept in and Middler upped his level.
Dan tanked the end of the second set.
Had a go in the third once a breakdown, but lacks match fitness and the serve needs some work.
saw the end of the daniel brands match he look good and in complete control hitting some nice shots
Osala v karlovskiy was a quality match with karlovskiy serving at 5-2 in the 1st set at one point but osala came back with a variety of shots. h
glasspool played very well had a nice game, trying to get to the net. Him against osala in the 2nd round could be a fun one to watch if the are both playing well.
evo played very well in the 1st set and at one point was looking like he could pick up an easy win but Miedler upped his game in the 2nd set hitting a lot of aces, dan didnt really get a look in on Miedler service game and he seemed to loose focus a bit once he was a break down. played better towards the end but still wasn't getting a look on the Miedler serve
Thanks Huntley, sounds like a good day. Telegraph reporting that from days interview they expect him to play at least one futures in Tunisia before Loughborough qualies. Presumably it would have to be next week as playing the following week would run the risk of clashing with Loughborough qualies if he did well. As per earlier comments, not sure about this, maybe he'd be better playing a British Tour event if he wants court time? Tunisia is also on clay isn't it?

Jerba, the men's current venue in Tunisia is hard outdoors. It is the women's venue at Hammamet that is clay.

A short report on the beeb website: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/43956077
It's a shame he wasn't given a day's rest (or even two). That way the masses could have seen him on telly, and I think there was considerable interest. Anyway, I think we saw enough to satisfy ourselves that he has a decent chance of getting back to where he was.
Just watched Gray live never in a million years would he be a Main draw Wc at Wimbledon he has nice shots but nothing to trouble top players I cannot see him ever breaking top 300. The Finn outpowered him with nice variety of pace Gray lost about 8 games in a row second set I was disappointed first time I have seen him.
Heliovaara won the GB F2 in Loughborough in February so seems to like British soil. I haven't checked but presumably he will play Loughborough again in a couple of weeks time
