Certainly doesnt look like hes got much left, maybe the match sharpness not quite there under pressure. But he's stopped the rot and won a game, if he can hang in there maybe it will return though he has had a fairly spectacular drop off in level, albeit credit to his opponent for stepping up.

That was a gritty hold.

Maybe Miedler will tighten up if this stays close

To be fair to Miedler, he's served really well since he got ahead. Hasn't given Dan too many chances so far.

And he's really tucked into Dan's slice in a way that few players have done in the past.

A love hold from Dan, that was a much better game.  I don't think his problem is one of fatigue.  Miedler is playing better and Dan needs more match play.

Yes, Dan could have done with a rest day today, after his first two matches back, and to give him a little time to regroup for the main draw. Still, he is in there still fighting but struggling to dent the Miedler serve at the moment.

Another love hold. Yes he has kept going well.

Just not got a real foothold in any Miedler serve game in the final set. Now would be a good time !

4-5*

Dan has won 8 consecutive points on serve.  But I don't  think Miedler is to be denied.  4 big serves and the match is his
