Well done on a good week Emilie. Might we have found our new Manisha/Mirabelle/Suzy?
I believe Manisha has quit and Suzy is coaching, but what has happened to Mirabelle? After a decent 2016, last year was a bit of a disaster, anyone know?
Interesting indeed. Something certainly clouded her progress that's for sure. And in the end, with her going backwards really, I suspect the money ran out. Think she'll find her next step equally hard, even if the idea might be good.
And if her work is pure fiction, then maybe it's fun and 'entertaining', as she claims.
But if she'd trying to write a self-help book, then surely the one thing she's proven is that she (and her mum) have NOT understood how to 'harness the powers of the mind' (blah, blah) and get the best out of the body.

Yes, I thought that was rather ironic... that her mum had helped her understand what was going on... a year too late, and seemingly after she had already made the decision to retire. It was clear for a long time that something had seriously gone wrong with her approach to the game. I know though that these things are always tricky to deal with, and always much easier with hindsight than in the heat of the bad experience. Nevertheless good luck to her now.. I suspect she may need to find some other way of earning an income for the time being.
Just to note that Lina Glushko, who beat Emilie yesterday, beat the top seed, Caroline Werner (GER) WR 564 6-3 6-3 in the final this morning, the same score Emilie lost by yesterday.
