In the doubles Emily is playing with Ksenia Lykina (RUS), an old partner of hers, and they are 2nd seeds up against her singles opponent plus another Kazak first round.

Emily is playing her singles now and has just managed to win the first set 7-5, after coming from 2-4 behind. In serving for the set she tried hard to blow it by throwing in 3 DFs, her first of the match, but fortunately won every point she did land a serve.

The day has been rain interrupted which is why she is only playing now.

The better news is that Emily + Ksenia have won their first round doubles 6-1 6-1. Emily needs to reach the SF for any of her doubles points to increase her ranking at 25k level, as she is maxed out with 12pt wins at 15k level.

The QF will follow later today still, since their L16 match was held over from yesterday. It will be the third match today for both Emily and Ksenia (who also lost her singles)
