Given the changes to the ITF circuit next year, I expect we will soon be struggling to fill out Steven's Top 25 table.
The really inglorious thing would be not to be able to fill out the top 25 table THIS year.
Quite a number of these listed by Michael beyond our top 20 will certainly need to add points some time. Emily Arb no doubt will and Mandy if and when fit. We will probably scrape through to the year end, with bits and pieces points and hopefully a new name or two ( though we have noone sitting on 2 counters ) though not guaranteed to, but I can certainly see us having less than 30 ranked players for the first time I recall.
A number at that level, and others trying to get initial ranking points, have been arguably shafted by the lack of home opportunities. Scott Lloyd said in the recent meeting / dinner attended by Topemp that tournaments are not as good a way of getting value for our pros as funding trips abroad ( though he did feel that the number of home tournaments had shrunk too low ). Now I kind of doubt what funding most of these would get for trips abroad but in general they would no doubt love many more tournaments.

Some pretty weird cost economics being applied there. Value per player wise it must be cheaper hosting a few more tournaments at home. And I think the effects on our women at lower ranking levels makes that case fairly obvious. There are several players who have points from one counter that could probably have been ranked by now if given a few more opportunities in 15ks - not just home 25ks
In running Fran moves ahead of Alicia in the great battle for GB #19 on Monday week, 36 points to 35. Watch out, #18 Emily Appleton ( 39 points ) plus Beth and EWS beyond.
And whatever our top 25 concerns, in "20 GB women in the top x", x pushes up a bit more.
