British women's players ranked 3-9 and 11 are all currently in the Japan 80k entry list. However, some are entered on other lists too, so may not all play there.

And good to see Sam Murray, #10 still, back on entry lists again, though she has got that far a few times recently, not to make the actual tournaments. As for Mandy C, after her one appearance on a list, she has not been seen again which suggests she sustained a setback. Recovering from wrist surgery that's not uncommon, but it would be sad for her if she misses the whole clay season - though she can extend it of course in lower ranked tournaments, which is all she will be able to enter when she returns. Soon she will have to start back at 15k level, which is unfortunate.

Surprised Naomi B is playing Japan this week when there is a (usually weak) 125k event in China where she will be the previous 2 weeks.

I have a feeling the WTA $125K in Anning, China is on clay (it has been when its been an ITF $100K the last few years) so thats probably what doesnt appeal to Naomi.

I would have thought it would be useful for her to get some time on clay before RG, which will only be about 3 weeks away then?

The field in Israel is now so weak that Alicia is no 3 on the main draw list. Shame some of the others didn't plump to play there - Freya could have been top seed but seems to have withdrawn from all lists.

Wow. Nell Miller is 5th alt for the MD, having come out top of the unranked players. And that's with only 16 players showing on the MD list.

Withdrawal deadline today
Suzie withdrew from Thailand (today). Would have been 10th on the main draw acceptance list.
Eden withdrew from Hungary, Beth is in the qualifying list.
Sam and Freya are out of Georgia
Japan - Broady, Taylor, Boulter, Robson, Dunne, Dart (Webley-Smith) - others withdrawn

Drat cry Saw Suzie a couple of times on the qualies list when the girls were playing in Aus, but no show. I suspect an injury - hope it goes soon.

Well, this could be just a massive PR push to sell tickets or....Andy may play Glasgow. Not sure how legit the source is.

The guy reporting is often on BBC and knows the Murray family well so I'd say it's decent information
