Did I miss something ?

Many congratulations to Dan, and to Leon Smith, a man of his word.

Superb win, hard to explain the fist pumps and tears while I am (ahem) working.
I think Dan needed that win as much or more than Team GB, well done.
And I'd love to hear him being introduced as Davis Cup rubber winner as opposed to 'coming back from a drugs ban'.

Atmosphere gone a bit flat. Hope it picks up once Cam starts his match - just warming up now.

Apart from that wobble in the 3rd, Evo showed us some real guts in this game and what a fine win. Isto was surely under much pressure, which showed but equally he made some very fine winners. Ruddy enjoyable match that.. Just remind me, what was wrong with Davis Cup..

It doesn't generate income for an elite group of wealthy sponsors.

Stupendous result for Dan - & unexpected on my part (I left work earlier than usual & he was then two sets to one down).  ban-woohoo.gif  Absolutely delighted for him.  biggrin  Istomin is now 32 & that match lasted four hours & 11 minutes.  With any luck, Dan softened him up nicely for the first of the reverse singles, especially bearing in mind that Istomin will also be playing in the doubles rubber tomorrow afternoon.

Really pleased for Dan - he did get the most challenging match so this win means a lot.biggrin

I hope he is safely in the top 100 by the time Wimbledon comes around.

Yes really pleased for Dan and also for Leon Smith who continued to show faith in him. His selection has clearly been vindicated.

Poor start from Karimov but improved in the 3rd and Nozzer in into TB. Yanks and spanish are both 2nil down in the semi's. Coric and cilic spanking the yanks on clay.
