Week 15 - Challenger ($100,000+H) - CDMX Open, Mexico City (clay)

Will give it a a listen. What happens though if he goes deep in a Challenger and gets into the top 250 surely priority would change? And Jonny whats the story with him then?

Sorry, I realise that what I attached my post to was really about Jonny. I have not heard his reasoning but Luke's is interesting.

Oh yes, Jay dispatches the top seed with rather more to spare than last time.

Well done  biggrin

I watched some of this on live stream and thought it was a mighty fine performance from Jay against the top seed. Hope he can now take advantage of his draw and keep it going this week with plenty of points up for grabs.

Those 8 points so far more than cover the 6 points Jay has coming off next week, the only points he has due to come off before June.

And already WR 235 he is looking extremely good for French Open qualifying. Be good to see him there after missing out on Aussie Open qualifying due to his wrist injury. And his clay game seems to be coming along rather nicely.

Good to get a tidy win. I wonder if in time this will be looked back on as the start of a partnership that really develops ...

An outing in the doubles for Korda the younger, presently the worlds best junior teamed up with Nicolas presently no 7, given Luke's comments about not having the skill set to be a top 50 singles player and therefore focusing on doubles it will be interesting to see how the two youngsters with completely different aspirations go against the wiley old hands!

I hadn't even realised that Jay was playing!  The live stream would have been way more interesting than last night's telly.

Jay plays again today.  He is third match on with play starting 14:00 local.  Both preceding matches are dubs.
