They had terrible trouble with rain here last year, too.
Hoping for a strong week from more than one of our players - could be any of them, but more than just one deep run.

Data I post, opinions I offer, 'facts' I assert, are almost certainly all stupidly wrong.
The original start scheduled here for 10 am has been pushed back to 11.30 then again to 13.00, as obviously the rain continues to fall. I tried to look up what indoor court capacity they have here, but its hard to determine if they do indeed have any. What they have clearly is a very fancy setup which is likely why so many of our players have been attracted there, despite the inclement weather which has also been affecting men's tournaments in Portugal over the past month or so.
Outoor play has now be rescheduled to 5.30pm, except for Emily's qualifying match which has been moved indoors starting at 4pm. I think this may be off-site as the indoor players need to check for the departure time. All the doubles matches scheduled for today have been removed from the OOP, leaving just the four R32 singles matches and Emily's qualifying match.

I don't think it's a particularly fancy set up. I think its' attraction to British players is that it's not clay!

Yes, I'm sure you're right! It's just the website that makes it all seem fancy, since it is a kind of brochure for the place, but I guessed that what the players encounter is somewhat less
Despite her lowly ranking, Bejenaru is a right pesky Brit basher. We were 3-9 against her last year, and 0-1 currently this. Come on Emily, strike a blow!

Indeed, see she is based in Northern Ireland now, but not very successful with that fund raising.
I know some on here don't take too much notice in odds, but I was really surprised to see the prices in the Maia match. Rodionova is the favourite as expected, but she is just 4/6 compared to Maia's 11/10, so not much in it. For context, that is exactly the same in the Rybakina-Dart match in Istanbul, with the young Russian the 4/6 favourite despite being lower ranked, so it's not just British money influencing the odds.
