She saved that but then lost the next 2 to lose 8-6 on the TB, having had a 5-2 lead so lost 6 of last 7 points.

Been an awful week for Emily. She did get that one Q win, but losing that stop-start FQR where she had a good chance of progressing and then hanging around all week to lose so emphatically in the doubles. She is back there next week so obviously not a wasted trip, but she'd have surely hoped for better.

That's a bad loss for Katie. It seems she may have had some sort of injury, but still losing from 5-2 up in the TB against the WR 932 - even if a talented junior - is not the performance of someone that's on her game. And coming in the week she was not selected for the next Fed Cup matches makes it a dispiriting week for her. Still the sun should be out next week and hope it is a better one for her.
