Lost the final set 1-6, so goes down 6-4, 4-6, 1-6. Real shame after getting the second set back on serve at 4-5, went on to lose 7 of the next 8 games. Most of the seeds have advanced and it is:

1 vs 7
3 vs 5
4 vs
2 vs

4 is who has just beaten Freya and would have been on course to face 6th seed Katie S. Katie B (2nd seed) takes on the person who put out the 8th seed.

Now 3pm
Surprised they haven't moved indoors again. No way are they going to complete 15 matches today.

The problem is that the indoor courts are apparently in Santarem which requires transport to be organised and an agreement to be reached with the venue. They are also,  according to a translation of a Portuguese news site,  fast hard courts which is not what this tournament is supposed to be on.  According to the same article, one of the indoor courts became unusable.

Ahh, that explains what happened yesterday. I was surprised that there seemed to be a court empty but matches not starting yesterday... For the latter part of the afternoon they were certainly only using two courts, and I think one match was actually switched mid match. That also explains why they did not start any of the doubles yesterday, and it may be challenging for them to do so today too!

They should just abandon the doubles at this rate.

That would be a pity - and tough on those waiting all week to get on court (eg Beth and Olivia)

Yeah but they are so far behind schedule...players have other tournaments to play.

Most of them are still there next week. And at least next week's weather promises to be fairer!
