Tara with seven aces wins the first set 6-1.

Does her opponent have the sun in her eyes when Tara is serving? Can be the only explanation surely....

Oh wait 5 DFs as well maybe not.

Perhaps at 15K level they cannot return as well.

Good win for Tara.
Very much a confidence player and if she gets on a run, no reason why she cannot get back inside the top 250.

Very convincing
Decent shot at a ninth singles title.

SF: Tara MOORE (GBR) [2] 479 defeated Angelina GABUEVA (RUS) 896 6-1 6-2

F: Tara MOORE (GBR) [2] 479 v. Eleni KORDOLAIMI (GRE) [3] 517 (CH 458, Aug. 2017)

Very much a physical fitness player too.

Which was most decidedly lacking last year.

If she's got that a bit in order, she will done herself a huge favour.

Good to see Tara winning agan. She desperately needs the points just to stay where she is in the rankings.
Outside the top 500 in the live rankings now., with less than a third of the points needed to get back up to the top 250

Yes, I haven't been able to check results for a couple of days, and it's great to see Tara has reached the final, and through a series of convincing wins too. In the final, to note she is playing against her doubles partner for the work, who in contrast to Tara has played three successive 3 set matches to get there.

Always look for Tara's results this hopefully is green shoots of a ranking recovery too good a player to be ranked about 500 in world

Delightfully anticlimactic
6-0 6-1

A ninth singles title for Tara (8 x $10/$15K, 1 x $25K)
Her first singles title in over two years, since Antalya in January 2016.

It's Tara's eighteenth pro title in total.

There's never been any doubting the talent. Can the pieces be found to unlock it in a sustained manner?

Well done Tara

Congrats to Tara indeed, especially for such a professionally conducted victory  biggrin

This at least will regain Tara the 10 points she loses this week, with net +2 the following week (she has 1 pointers, so it is effectively -9 and then +11). She will therefore likely move back to between 467-470 in a week's time. Then she could do with another good week next week too...

With the 12 points from this week, Tara now has just 3 double figure counters, and of these the lowest, another 10 pointer (for reaching QR2 in the Rabat WTA event last year), will come off 7th May. So it would be good if Tara can cover this one too, to keep her ranking in the 400s at least, and to be hoped then serve as the platform for keeping her (re-)motivation and moving higher again.
