Carol is another player off the Stanford .... College to WTA production line which is probably about as productive as the LTA at that 75- 150 range if along with Nicola Gibbs you include Mallory Burdette who quit due to injury. Michelea Gordon being next in line
Mal Burdette was the one really very high quality womens college player from the last decade or so - one that had potential to have made the very top of the game, top 20 or more. Her movement would've needed work though, but boy did she have Keys like power, possibly more.
I remember when she beat Annie K in Stanford and we all scratched our heads and sagely determined it as a terrible result against a college scrub
I got the impression that though she did have injuries, she did not like profressional tennis much, and was minded to quit anyway, preferring instead further academia. I believe she is in academic research now.

Data I post, opinions I offer, 'facts' I assert, are almost certainly all stupidly wrong.
Yep Blob agreed I think the top top players make such an impression as teenagers particularly on the ladies side College Tennis wouldnt challenge them, so they dont go for example CiCi Bellis playing this year as a freshman would be daft she has already earnt a million dollars in prize money. Nicole Gibbs won the NCAA twice and forgo her senior year to turn pro, she is a very very good tennis player but will she ever break the top 50 probably not.
She did beat her team mate in the first NCAA final she won but the pair made up pretty quickly to win the NCAA doubles immediately afterwards. Emily Arb has her work cut out to emulate Nicoles achievements but given her partner potentially for the next three years an NCAA doubles title is not an impossibility.
Level collapsed after that third game really, which was a shame as she was pretty clean until then. Got a bit mad at herself and then started to get back into it, breaking as Zhao served for it.
