Week 14 - ITF ($15K) - Nanjing, China - Hard

A game away, been very mixed bag. Footwork good, motivation & energy good, set up good, tactics sometimes understandably naieve.
6-3 5-4*

Piling on the points! Some real strengths, unusually I think opponents will be hitting to her forehand!

Another great result. A QF from qualifying in what is your second attempt at playing futures is a superb effort.

Ref to the tiny comment - this was from seeing her over 2 years ago. She was small compared to her competitors...

I almost adapted the classic Abbott & Costello sketch into my original post, but didn't think it would be well enough known in the Uk, especially now, to register.

Details in the spolier, if interested

Spoiler

I mean... my 'jokes' and 'puns' are lame enough already

Despite playing the highest remaining seed and highest remaining local, Emma is not on the srteamed court today.
Still acquitting herself well in the opening flurries. 2 breaks to 1; wore the second seed down in the fifth game on her 5th BP in it.
*3-2

Still very competitive, just one total point between them. 2 breaks each; lot of long games.
4-4*
