Elbaba was Danielle Collins roommate at Virginia. Iirc, Collins tranferred there and had to fall in behind Elbaba who held the role of no.1 player on the team and was herself a bluechip recruit. Collins considered she was a better player so playing no.2 was a sore point and they reportedly didn't get on. I watched them play each other last year on the ITF tour, Collins won and it was all very formal and brief at the net at the end. No embrace. For teammates and roommates, they were strangers. Searching their names now, I see the match is up on youtube.
Collins became the dominant force in NCAA tennis, and that was recognised by her being award the inaugural Oracle grant of $100.000.00, designed to help players transition to the pro tour. She has since been making great progress. Elbaba has had injury problems but will be looking to get her career back up out of the Sharm Futures circuit asap.
