Emily is also playing doubles again this week with Mia Eklund (FIN), and they are again 2nd seeds, having lost in last week's final. Their L16 match is later this afternoon.... since postponed to tomorrow, Tuesday

With last week's runner-up spot all Emily's 11 doubles counting ranking scores are 7 points or more and all these have been added since early August last year. So in a 15K needs a title win to improve her ranking points and then 'just' by 5.

She has 6 x 12 ( 15K titles ), 1 x 9 ( 25K QF ) and 4 x 7 ( 15K RU ), totalling 109 points.

No real problem because I am sure that singles is her major priority and for now doubles a nice extra which she seems rather adept at. So her itinerary has to be singles driven.

I make Emily's earnings from those doubles counters almost $4000, so a nice little bonus whilst chasing singles points

Still waiting for Emily to show that talent in singles for a full week.
I'm expecting her to be sub 500 quite quickly.

Let's hope the next result is as easy as it was when the same player met in Greece in week 9

R32: Emily APPLETON (GBR) [8] 617 defeated (WC) Nikoleta ANTONIOU KARADEMITROU (GRE) UNR 6-0 6-3

R16: Emily APPLETON (GBR) [8] 617 v. Josephine BOUALEM (FRA) 718 (CH 408, Jul. 2016)
H2H 1-0
> 2018 Heraklion, Greece - $15K - Clay - R32 - Appleton 7-5 6-4
