Qualifying has started today in Alicante for this G1, involving several Brits. Expected in Tuesday's main draw are George Loffhagen, Jacob Fearnley, Emile Hudd, Anton Matusevich, Jake Hersey, Zyaan Ahmed and Destinee Martins
Felix Gill, Barney FitzPatrick, Benjamin Heynold, Daniel Webb, Amelia Bissett, Amarni Banks, Eleanor Baglow, Kylie Bilchev and Jizel Matos Sequeira Fernandes are in qualifying, with the girls' section particularly strong - including a player ranked just outside 50 and a girl who won one of the Spanish G2s
Barney, Amarni, Eleanor, Kylie and Jizel won their openers but Benjamin, Felix and Daniel lost out. Millie had a bye in QR1
Millie won her second as well, but she is the only British qualifier so far. Barney plays his final qualifier later today, Kylie and Marni lost in final qualifying while Eleanor and Jizel lost in QR2
Barney won to become our second qualifier. The draws seem reasonably kind considering the quality of the field

Anton Matusevich v (11) Admir Kalender (CRO)
A super day for the boys with 100% success, including two wins over seeds, but the girls found it tough. Jacob gets a rematch against the player who beat him last week. Both French opponents in round 3 have won a G1 this year

(14) Marta Custic (ESP) d. (Q) Amelia Bissett 6-1 6-0 (16) Elina Avanesyan (RUS) d. Destinee Martins 6-2 6-3
Marmousez is one of the decent hopes of French tennis. Born Jan 2002. Made the national finals a couple of years back (although didn't play last year - injured maybe?)
Now boards at the National tennis centre in Poitiers. 25 hours a week of specific tennis and physical training. 20 weeks a year spent at tournaments. Plus compulsory schooling.
A super day with all 4 progressing against top 100 opponents to the quarters. Anton's next opponent won last week's Spanish G2 to enter the top 20. He has a 14-3 record this year, but two of his defeats were against the two opponents in the top half of the draw, so there should be some tough matches tomorrow
