Week 13 - ITF ($15K) - Nanjing, China - Hard

A useful first excursion into the pro game, despite not making the MD.
FQR: Emma RADUCANU (GBR) UNR lost to Siqi CAO (CHN) [q7] 1046 4-6 2-6

Shame but a tough match up against a player ranked close to Emmas rank at the moment when in her final yr as a junior but now battled hardened with 18 months of senior Tennis playing the full remit of tournaments 10- 100k in that time no 2 month trips to Sharm to build a rank.

The Chinese have a plan to develop their players that is very different to our bespoke approach and as a consequence the points won by their younger players are very hard earned. So although it looks as if she hasnt made much progress it is because there havent been many baby steps. I wonder whether the Chinesetennis.net has many threads complaining about the CTA

The adjustment made when comparison with Sharm is real in that the higher ranked players at the top end reflect the true degree of difficulty understated statistically when looking at the degree of difficulty by rank to score 1 or even 2 points. Why? Because there are very few players in the field who arent Chinese.
