Week 12 - ITF ($60K) - Canberra, Australia - Clay

Katy sadly lost heavily to her friend. I didnt watch the match so cant say if it was a case of her playing badly, being outplayed etc.

I watched the first set, which, in my judgement, would fall very definitely into the latter category.

Went to bed at 0-6 1-2 *40-0 so made the mistake in assuming Katy had basically won the 4th game and it was going to be a tight second set, but obviously not to be.

Gabi due on around 12.30am. Not sure if there's a stream available for this one. The bookies website I use doesn't have one.

Gabi takes the first set 6-3 ( 3 breaks to 2 )

She had *5-3 *40-0 at which point she lost the next 4 points including serving 3 DFs ( having only served 1 DF before then ). But then took the next 3 points and the set.

Just following it on Flashscores but looks a weird set. Lu was *3-2 up but then Gabi took the next 3 to serve for the set (5 breaks overall). Gabi was *40-0 up but then lost the next 4 points to face another BP. She then won the next 3 points to take the set 6-3.

I guess the conditions are causing havoc again, but another set in the bag. Probably calling it a night now. Hopefully she'll see it out in straight sets when I wake up.

An early break to 30 for Gabi at the start of the second set, but judging by yesterday's match and the first set, probably not as crucial as it usually would be.

Gabi 2-0*

A little peek at the Hon vs Perez match does indeed show a bit of a gale blowing.
