While it was a better week for Jo and some encouraging signs, Venus' performances in her preceding and following matches does take the gloss off it. Obviously being 37, her movement is always going to be pretty limited / restricted but she always looks so beatable and Bertens (who's ranking is hugely inflated by her impressive clay game) had 3 MPs and she looked very poor last night vs Collins, yet still managed 12 of the last 15 games vs Jo. Thinking about it, even Vikhylantseva was in commending positions in both sets in VWs opening match.

Anyone know how her back is and is she still due to play Charleston?
