Jo vs Mertens first up on Stadium Court at 11 am local, 4 pm BST - yep summer time !

Jo and Heather 5th up on Court 2 for their doubles, following 3 singles matches and a doubles match, so a long day for Jo.

(1) Halep and (2) Wozniacki already out, to A Radwanska in R3 and to Puig in R2 respectively.

Mertens is having a service mare, otherwise it's pretty even. Elise just consecutively DF to give Jo the break.
It's 2 breaks to 1.
Jo's FH has definitely changed, it looks a lot more like Halep's now, with that exaggerated scoop and wrist flick in the follow through.
Jo holds to 15.

Jo very very aggressive on return, especially 2nd return, has Elise cowed somewhat. Been hitting her back and back, and a bit in Elises head if she misses that first delivery.
Also, Elise's day serving could be made much worse if someone were to look at her back foot on her service delivery.

Jo breaks, the deciding point clipping the tape and falling unplayable. But, she had deserved and earned the break anyway.
BH DTL is in sparkling touch right now.
Elise is actually doing well by picking up lots of half-volleys off her toes from return just to stay in the points and get into the rallies, but her time keeps getting taking away from her.

Jo serving, one game aside is very solid, and her serve pattern has changed from last year - I can't tell where she's going anymore.
