The good news for Katie too is that result and its 20 points will move her back into the top 200. She is now 194 in the live rankings.
And after quite a lot of points coming off recently now just a further total 17 ( net 14 ) points due off before the French Open qualifying list comes out. So she will certainly be off to Roland Garros assuming she wants to go.
She does have a total of 63 points coming off in May from last year's Japanese 60Ks so just good to keep adding wins and points.
Not been a great points scoring year to date but Katie Swan is the lowest ranked player she has lost to and KS was ranked 289 at the time. 3 wins and 3 losses so far this year against top 200 players with the 3 wins being against WR 123 or better ( the better being the two wins vs Townsend ). Overall now 5 wins and 6 losses in 2018.
She might have prospered more pointswise if she had been able to stay down in Australia but she has added useful further experiences in the Fed Cup and in the USA ITFs, and now most certainly here, so all useful in the bigger picture for an ambitious young lady.

Zhao's not been in great form this year so there is an opportunity to progress, but even if KB exits later, this will have been an unexpected bonus anyway.

Does that factor in even if Ms. Boulter stays static (worst case scenario), that there is not any way for enough players currently behind her to excel and pass her through their merits. She might stand still as a crowd pass her by to deny her, or did your calculation fond that impossible?

Heather is giving BHM a shot at a not terribly difficult winner on almost every point. Those chances aren't, generally, being earned by BHM, Heather is just putting the bal short and empty in middle court by routine.
BHM should not be missing them, and it is only becasue she is that this has not been an absolute steamroller.
But, she is, so, TB
6-6
