Jana Fett was coincidentally in this same position of 5-2* in the second set earlier today and went on to lose the set and then retire in the decider, so not counting chickens just yet.
Again? She has done that at least 2 times previously, one being against Wozniaki at the Aus Open.
Naomi loses final set 6-3. Such a poor run now. Dodin was higher ranked and the top seed in this segment but has had a massive injury lay off recently so was probably there for the taking. Not sure where she goes from here.
Better news is that KB comes back from 0-30 to win the next 4 points to lead 5-2* in the 2nd set and has 3 chances to win the match now, one on serve.
Great result for Katie - and yes, I looked to see if it was a career best win, but not quite.
20 points and $4,650 in the bag - chance for more, but opponent not decided yet

About as poor as Jo is as well to be honest.
And Heather as well I suppose. I know she is slipping down the rankings so a lot of these aren't shocks but there's been some very poor results this year. The 6-1 6-1 to Anisimova seemed very poor at the time, but perhaps understandable after the 16 yo's exploits the following week. But losing to the likes of Garcia-Perez, Sorribes-Tormo, Weijers and even Townsend in straight sets last week who KB has now beaten twice in a few weeks, it's pretty alarming.
Obviously Jo's standards are higher, but at least she is getting the odd win likes Keys, Pera rematch, CSN, Pavs etc, still poor mind, but Naomi's is different level. I wonder if her MDWC is at risk if she keeps this run going until the grass season? Think I'd rather give one to Taylor, Boulter and Dart at this rate.
