Property developers and the death of non league football clubs

To quote Mr Trump, match STOLEN!!! Called my lawyers, CVPM went out 1-0 hit the bar obvious penalty not given. Havant down to 10, but 30k in the bank. Think good chance that is probably the end of the season unless football is played in front of fans through the summer.

Unless covid gets worse, then crowds at step 3 should be allowed from Dec as we move back to regional tiers.

More FA Cup giantkillings today - Barnet, Solihull, Chorley and a couple more still going.

The gap is closing between league and non league...

15 non league teams in round 2 with Oxford City knocking out Northampton tonight.
3 all non league ties.
Just Barnet at home against a league side.

Plenty of in fighting in the National League over distribution of funding. 9 clubs are trying to overthrow the board as they have not got their way.

National League North is a bit odd. There are teams that have played just 3 or 4 times compared to some who have played 9.

The big spenders in Gloucester and Fylde are at the top.
Southport sit 3rd, but have played the most games.

We have seen some fun and games with streaming.
Southport ended up binning their streaming provider and have taken legal action after the stream couldn't support the high numbers for Hereford and York.
There seems to be two main providers.
Bradford PA seem to have had issues with every home game and ended showing on a dodgy camera on Facebook live.
Telford was a good stream, but didn't start until 5 mins in. Kettering buffered and went off whilst the goal went in. Blyth was fine.

Money bags Gloucester have just lost their manager who has joined Chesterfield.
I suspect he will take some of the superstars with him.

In the meantime - conference clubs can get crowds back from Dec 2nd.
However unless Southport get an FA Trophy home draw they have no hone match until boxing day.

I am pleased for Gloucester ie they have some cash to spend. They have had a tough time having to play out in Evesham, decent sized City with a bit of success easily capable of generating 5K plus gates. Obviously known as a Rugby stronghold but it has a more football type demographic population.

Interesting developments at Southport - tier 2.
Southport are only one of eight teams in NLN which can play with crowds.
This Saturday's home fixture has been pushed back one week(FA Trophy delayed)
Next Tuesday's home game is now on Wed.

Club has applied for a test game on wed and a full game next sat.
Max capacity is just over 1200

Several clubs have already asked about reversing fixtures with us, so we get the home game now.

Soft spot for Marine since Hamlet played them preseason last year in a friendly as a rematch of the 1932 Amateur Cup final with the cup as special guest. Seem to have a bigger trophy in their sights this season. Great to see them able to bring in that sort of money this year.

I see the Southport secretary was busy this weekend; resulted in Telford running the line for Telford in his Southport tracksuit

Yes - he made the news. He and the chairman were there scouting. He is a qualified referee.

I believe we are the only National League side to have a crowd on Wed.

No other team has got all the paperwork completed.

Hereford refused to move their game at Telford from Tues to Wed.

It doesn't look like we will sell out on Wed.

I'd expect 200 out of 400 season ticket holders to turn up as we have a lot of support in tier 3 areas(Southport borders tier 2 &3)

There is champions league on TV, it's not very warm and Southport has an elderly population who may elect to miss due to Covid risk.

Very well organised tonight. First spectators in elite football in the NW and also in National League.
Unfortunately the performance by our team was pretty woeful.
