Hereford, Chester and York moaning in NLN, but they are of the biggest supported club.
York have a 2m windfall due. Hereford and Chester have been in a mess for a while.
They missed out Skelmersdale. Very unusual for Step 4 clubs to beat National League sides but I feel COVID has distorted the picture as both South Shields who beat Halifax & CVPM were flying and very likely to have been step 3 this season. The CVPM manager & coach have done an excellent job improving & developing step 5 players. Although Kevin Lisbie has only been seen playing in the U23s (with two of his sons a sign of somebody who loves playing football) CVPM also recruited well with a couple of players successful at step 3 & another couple from step 2 joining the squad this season.

CVPM got Havant & Waterlooville away, fond memories for me as where Hamlet won to get into first round proper last year. Very tough draw cant believe Sunderland were next out of the hat!!! Sooo close. Fancy Maldon & Tiptree for back to back giant killing they have Morecambe at home, long trip to the Essex salt marshes.
All fans now banned in FA Cup perhaps CVPM are elite??

Cray Valley Paper Mills playing with the elite... Havant & Waterlooville. The semantics are ridiculous. Looking forward to Sunday lunchtime on the red button.
Southport move up to 4th with a 1-0 win at Kettering.
AFC Fylde are top and have just signed our striker, who got sent off last night..
Southport have now a squad of 17 of which, one is out long term with eye issues. One twisted his ankle on Saturday and another limped off last night.
Might struggle to get a full bench for Saturday.
Amazing effort by Skem. Such a colossal difference between step 5 and the football league, football focus reporting x number of places between for example Harrogate & Skem not taking into account the pyramid structure and the massive expansion as you progress into the base.
The standard at Step 5 is excellent and getting better but 160 teams play at step 4 alone. Non league finals day illustrates the difference beautifully with the lads playing in the vase generally having the pace of a tank and those in the National League that of a 4yr old Yaris, reasonably swift, no super car but an enormous difference in athleticism.
Cant wait until tomorrow, the early rounds of the FA Cup are for me what English/Welsh football is all about.
At last the government get value for money from a COVID aid package the £116 a month per fan that they are subsidising big spending but poorly supported Borehamwood paid off with an FA Cup 1st round slaying of Southend on penalties.
So pleased for Marine who did the same and put out Colchester and Kings Lynn who did for Port Vale but bucked the trend and it did it a quick fire 90 minutes.
Concord Rangers came close but this week will be playing second fiddle as Canvey Island FC were cooking on gas, no doubt their fans will hit the offie/chippie for a take out celebration of their win at Banbury. One Island (which it isnt) two teams.
As an aside, 10 non league teams are into round 2 from 28 matches. With 12 matches to play and, I think, 12 non league teams left, the previous record is 14 in 1975 /6 and maybe 15 in 2007, I'm not sure re latter. But either way, it could be close to a record this season.
