I went to Warrington v Southport on Tuesday.

It was OK - crowd of 300-400, but would not be comfortable with much more at their ground. Tight ground etc

Southport hoping to get approval for 2 home friendlies for 450 and 900.
Main stand season tickets virtually sold out(based on restricted numbers)

Did a couple this weekend. Crockenhill FC Saturday beautiful run down rural ground used for filming of the Bromley boys & Very friendly Tuesday night saw a storming 2-2 draw as CVPM took on Charlton U-23s cracking game. Total expenditure £13. Any concerns over capacity & social distancing at either game just wishful thinking so much room got a bit of agoraphobia.

Another £8 (running total £21, P3 G12) spent watching last season run away SECFL leaders Beckenham beat Deal, who literally park the (FA Vase winning) bus fortunately just behind the goal.

Decent little ground, good bar with benches in the sun for a pre/mid match pint. Shots pinging against the bar both ends, goal line clearances & some fierce tackling which settled down after a late Beckenham tackle took out the deal right midfield dislocation his shoulder. Even though Beckenham went in 2-0 up Deal pretty unlucky could easily have been 2-2 and pressed for the whole 2nd half.

I think I will be watching quite a bit of SCEFL & Isthmian league div 1 SE football as Hamlets normal gates dont allow social distancing even season ticket holders alone would be tight so understandably still havent announced their season ticket arrangements. Worcester City sold their season ticket allowance straight away.

Lots of step 5 games off in Northern & Midland Leagues this week. With all the will in the world I cant see the players having the discipline to social distance outside football. Foden, Greenwood, Walker the thin end of the wedge.

Players travelling around their regions combined with very few fans grasping the value of social distancing despite it being pretty straight forward to achieve & the majority are high risk even at this very early stage put the season at risk.

For my tenner this pm got 6 goals as Cray Valley Paper Mills stuck 6 (could have been 10) past VCD (same league) with some excellent players on the bench. Greater opportunity to test themselves against teams from higher divisions, CVPM much stronger than last year. A run in the FA Cup would be a real treat. Worcester In their 2nd home game @ Claines Lane also progressed. Happy days

Looks like we may have some movement on crowds for National League ref letter from DCMS saying as long as circumstances remain reasonable crowds will be allowed for National League

So Harrogate got to the final of the FA Trophy, presumably the only Non-Non league team ever to do that, we play Concord Rangers in the final, I would hope we take that seriously and we should expect to win.

FA Vase final is Hebburn v Consett I think, big North East Derby in a cup that is famously often won by teams from the North East!

I think the worm is turning, Corinthian lost in the semi on penalties they are a strictly amateur team made up of players from one family with a fine cricketing pedigree!! that play on a farm near Brands Hatch in Kent. They also have a fantastic youth set up. They are however the exception to the rule with big money going into a number of SECFL teams with big backers and big crowds, last season there was an all SECFL SF with Chertsey Town of the combined counties taking the trophy. Definitely my favourite cup Competition in football, even like the fact its not a cup its a Vaase.

Not happening now - seeking funding from government.

Open issues - no funding, some clubs will go bust by christmas . New contracts written so payment once matches start. Question marks if FA Cup will kick off this contract.

Completely understand the clause and dont think the FA Cup should as essentially it defeats the whole object of having it, the COVD pandemic is not the fault of anyone within football and as an entity responsible management of the situation by all involved in elite football is essential for the long term fiscal health of all involved. Those playing at step 2 level will have no opportunity going forward to play professionally if they bankrupt the clubs that pay them which will shrink the professional pyramid significantly, EFL clubs will undoubtedly go too.
