That's the third highest ranked player that she's beaten to date.
This is the step that she needs to start climbing over regularly, and then Top 400 players, and so on.

Jodie also makes it in to the doubles final

SF: Jodie BURRAGE (GBR) [5] 546 v. Barbora STEFKOVA (CZE) 1109 (CH 154, Feb. 2017)
After reaching her CH last year, Stefkova was out of action with a persistent wrist injury. This is her 4th tournament back, playing sparingly (once a month). If she plays to her previous form, she's too good to be here.

Looking at her results it normally takes 2-3 weeks when travelling to get a good week. If she could just settle a bit quicker to her environment you would see a big ranking jump.
That's an interesting final match up Jodie has there. Nadja is the American based at Bath, who has been having some success at Sharm and has now reached the final twice since she's been there. Listed as UNR in the draw Nadja had to come through 2 rounds of qualifying to reach the main draw. Her actual rank this week is 965, as shown, but her live rank is already up to 841. So she is making huge strides. Jodie, in the meantime, though making the final, is finally +1 for these two Miami weeks, though her live ranking is still slipping 4 to 540. A good time for Jodie to get her second 15k win.

Nadja has played 8 weeks! In Sharm.
She is 27 having had 18 months off the futures tour. Her CH is 397 back in 2015 after having had a sustained crack at the tour 2014-16. She was a solid college player at Georgia that was sometime ago graduating in 2011 playing no 2 for the 6 th ranked team And although ranked in singles in previous years was unranked in college tennis as a senior.
