Just to note that Jodie really needs some points this week as she has 7 points (net 5) coming off after Miami for reaching the Sharm final this time last year. Tough for Emilie, but she had a really good FQR result today.
R32: Emilie LINDH GALLAGHER (GBR) [Q] UNR 18yrs vs Julia ELBABA (USA) [3] 481 (CH:372 Aug 17) R32: Jodie Anna BURRAGE (GBR) [5] 546 vs Dalayna HEWITT (USA) [WC] UNR 17yrs (JCH:29 Feb 18)

Jodie hasn't lost yet this year after winnning the first set (4-0) and she was 34-5 in that respect last year.
This ones going to be a nail biter, but Jodie has just opened up a vital lead in the closing stages, 6-4 4-6 5-3*

Jodie sees off the young pretender, 6-4 4-6 6-3
5-0 when winning the first set; incidentally, I now notice that Gabi is 17-0 and Harriet is 15-0; last year, Eden was 24-0!
Well done Jodie

R16: Jodie BURRAGE (GBR) [5] 546 v. Anette MUNOZOVA (SWE) 851 (CH 747, Sep. 2016)
Munozova's R32 win was her first MD win anywhere since November.
We played her 3 times in 2017, all in March: First in Sharm, Suzy lost in 3, then Katie Swan defeated her in straights; at the end of the month in Istanbul, Freya also won in straights.
