Apparently Miami have announced more QWCs (8) than the 6 permitted in a 48 women qualifying competition. Be interesting to see what happens and who potentially misses out.

Seems a fiasco. Tennisforum are speculating that the organisers are keeping quiet for now, perhaps just hoping that two of their announced QWCs, Vinci and Lottner, near the top of the qualifying alts list, will get in by right.
I'm pretty sure that it was Miami that a few years ago used the wrong week's rankings for the seedings in the men's doubles draw and it had to be redrawn after a player pointed this out.
Ms. Swan also retired 3 times in 2017 - joint lead for that year amongst Brits, tied with Mandy.
I don't think she did retire last tournament, just faded away with what we supposed was an injury based on the result and an MTO being announced. She did finish the match, and RET was not the declared result.
Seems it is more productive right now to be a Katy than a Katie.
Yes. Katie S. seems like the most fragile player amongst the GB up and coming girls. Perhaps this will resolve itself as she gets older and perhaps stronger. But not looking great at this time.
