15-1 in her last 16 matches, all at $25K
The prodigiously talented Andreescu could be the next opponent, but she's down a set and a break to Radanovic WR276...

No idea what the problem is but Laura seems to have given walkovers in both singles and doubles so that is the end of the tournament for her. Hope for a speedy recovery but coupled with withdrawals from tournies in a couple of weeks time, is there some sort of ongoing issue? Best of luck for Harriet later to keep GB flag flying.

Miami QWC perhaps? Seems to be from nowhere, maybe shes applied for one didnt expect to get one but did. 1 won at qualies there is worth 2 rounds here not to mention the £ involved. Well find out in next 24hrs I guess. Fingers crossed.
That's a comprehensive victory for Harriet against a similarly ranked opponent, she is becoming the one to watch in our twenty somethings group. (I exclude Katie and Gabi who obviously aren't twenty something)
One game at a time obviously, but the bottom half is starting to open up a bit now so she has a good chance of going even further. Don't know much about the opponent, but must have a few credentials to put out Andreescu who was looking very good around the US swing last year and many tipped her for the top 100. Still some good names there like Stollar but there are no seeds left in the bottom half with the Japanese number 2 seed going out, plus the #8 seed Kudermatova as well who is the only person to beat Harriet these last 16 games. Great opportunity for one of these girls down there.
GB #7/8 between Harriet & Katy could change places, with Dart taking the lead; she can guarantee this if she keeps winning this week.
With both heading in the right direction again, in a few weeks we could have 8 inside the top 250. At which point, I'll try to figure out the last time that was true.

About time that we stopped tracking "Top 10", and started on "Top 8"!

Little bit hard on Katie S, who is currently in 9th place, but there is a gap opening up there.
Live rankings shows only 30 points between 5th and 8th, so it call all change quickly.

The Miami web site now lists wild cards for both the main draw and qualifying but there is no sign of Laura. However I suppose she might be playing doubles here?
