Olivia a double break up in the decider, serving for the match at *5-2. This would be a cracking win.

Kana Daniel is the younger sister of ATP pro, Taro Daniel (the Cam eliminator )
Interestingly, Kana has only just completed her switch to play for USA. We have played against her very recently when she was still JPN. I don't know whether Taro also intends to switch.
Weirdly though, that now means that Taro was born in the USA (NYC), but plays for Japan, but Kana was born in Japan, but plays for the USA!

Danielle found the eighth seed a little too strong... this time. 1-6 1-6

But very well done qualifying and winning a first point is fantastic.

Olivia actually served for the set at *5-4 but was broken back. There were 4 breaks in a row games 7-10, after early holds. Now a TB.

The TB was close but Olivia lost unfortunately 6-7(5). Hope it doesn't prove fatal as with Alicia yesterday. cry

Losing the TB did indeed prove fatal for Olivia. She had 3 BPs in the last game too, to retrieve one of the two breaks she was down in the second set, but lost all 3. So just one point for her too, but like Danielle, 3 encouraging wins overall.

Olivia and Alicia win their doubles convincingly, though - 2&3
