 ...  and he then withdrew from the Qatar qualifying draw on 2nd March.

He had Portugal as a higher priority than Qatar so must have been outside the Portugal qualifying list on 27th February when still entered for both.

Jack F-H and Pete Bothwell have just kicked the third seeds into touch, trouncing them 6-2 6-3.

Now into the SFs, with ranking points, which is always nice, although they will probably get the top seeds.

Very good for Jack 

I don't know whether allowing the singles automatic entry withdrawal in favour of Qatar was a slight screw up ( there are sometimes lessons to be learned about the way these things work ) but he has certainly still made something of the week.
