Te he, yes Oaky.

I actually think of Vandy as a naughty kid wanting attention- and bad attention being better than no attention at all. I love the Russia today analogy though.

Good point about the spats too, so Jon, please don't leave. I don't always agree with what's being said, but a lot of posters make their points well, and I love reading and sometime getting involved with the discussions. Besides none of my real life friends have any idea what I'm talking about if I start talking about tennis.

Bad drivers definitely not tolerated on this forum! Leave now!!!

Vandy is an acquired taste, prone to knights move thinking and extreme perhaps even extremist views in every sense but a bit like Russia Today not worth banning as after a bit you understand that it is what it is and occasionally funny (as in this case.. i.e. It was an ironic aside as Vandy has been verbally flayed in the past for treading a path of mysogny etc.... indeed every path you can think of) and not worth rising to.

Even if at any point you do get really upset by all means leave it for a bit and then come back, very very occasionally there is the odd spat and it's normally quite predictable ...... SC upsets an American or a Glaswegian ... Indi or A131 indulge in a bit of annual pro Wimbledon wildcard baiting, that season is about to start .... CD starts yet another debate about French junior tennis on the BritishTennis.net website....... BiS tries to turn it into the dirty Leeds fanzone and I note ..... it has all gone quiet over there!

I have absolutely NO idea what you're talking about, Oakie confuseconfuseconfuse

Are you sure you've not been on the wrong site? or having an old-age moment? or smoking something funny?

Now, sit back, and I shall tell you a story about the U12 girls in Montpellier.....

Don't worry, I am not going to leave! I was having a slightly childish moment and railed against something due to being a little peeved in my real life! As reported previously. Which reminds me. I now need to get to the body shop and see what they can do about my wing mirror.

My wifes reaction is that it is a good excuse to change my car - pointing to 170k on the clock on a 61/2 year old car. Now I think THAT is an over-reaction. Plenty more miles in the car yet I reckon!

Also noting borna coric this week. He's beaten young, Ramos Vinolas and Bautista Agut all in 2 sets and for loss of just 9 games over 6 sets. Pretty brutal.

And it took Roger the Lodger to subdue the young man in question in three sets over two hours 20 minutes (5-7 6-4 6-4) in the semi-final.

The Bryans getting to the doubles final means that Jamie will join JoKo in dropping to WR 14 in their respective rankings.

We will have no top 10 ranked players, having had 3 during last year.

 Nice symmetry.

(I can't be the only one who wants anyone but Roger to win can I? Or can I?)

You are certainly not the only one.

And I'm sure that we are not the only 2.

It's not just that I'm not exactly Fed's greatest fan but it's not a great commentary on the current state of the men's game that he is so dominating, fine effort by him as it is to be fair.

No.  Count me in along with Indy, even if it means Raonic or, preferably, DelPo.  wink

Yes, this is exactly how I feel too.

Pref Delpo for me as Well, although neither he nor Raonic have a Masters title.

I thought Fed played the most amazingly clever match to get through against Coric - loved it.
I want the best player to win. And if that is Roger, then it's him. No matter what age he is. Or how long he's dominated. If Del Po plays better and deserves to win, then great. But I don't begrudge Fed any of his wins - no one gives it to him - it's inspiring stuff.

Imperative that Federer keeps on racking up these titles to ensure there is clear daylight between him and the GCOAT (Nadal). This should help stop the usual trolls popping up in future years claiming there's a debate to be had.
