3 qualifier vs qualifier R1 matches so 50% chance of Cam being in one of them.

In theory he can't draw anyone too awful with the 32 seeds getting byes but Shapovalov would be err interesting. The remaining possibilities are Paire, Copil, Donaldson, Nishioka and Djere.

Qualifiers placed. Cam gets Taro Daniel [Q], with Djokovic [10] waiting in the second round.

Bold prediction.  Cam will beat Taro Daniel and then Djokovic will give a W/o after suffering a recurrence of his elbow injury.

Right.  Who's Cam going to get in R3 ?

I like this, Taro Daniel is...... the game is on Cam's racket.   As for Novak, anything can happen these days..

Have Vandy and BiS swapped logins

If Cam did beat Novak the reward would be circa 100 ranking.

Looks all set then for a British winner at Indian Wells.

Excellent

Just a pity that Kyle and Cam are in the same half so look set to clash in the SF. But let's not be too greedy I guess.

however...According to Tennis Abstract they have played once before in Laihaina Challenger just over a year ago, Taro Daniel took it in a 6-4 6-4 win in the semis.

Quite true!  Entirely my fault for relying on what comes up on the ATP live scoreboard instead of checking Steve G!

I presume this is the first time Kyle has been seeded at a Masters event?

****

L48:  Denis Istomin (UZB) WR 87 (CH = 33 in August 2012) or Peter Gojowczyk (GER) WR 50 (= CH) vs (21) Kyle Edmund WR 24

Istomin has pulled out ( shoulder ), replaced by (LL) Dudi Sela (ISR) WR 97 (CH = 29 in July 2009)

So Sela or Gojowczyk in the L64 for Kyle.

Thanks, I didn't have a stream so didn't see what happened. Would it be fair to say Cam beat himself, or wasn't it that bad?
