Just to note that at the end of Indian Wells Gabi will become the GB #4 singles player. Katie B has 39 points dropping off, including 30 for reaching the Mildura final last year. Katie is playing next week in a 25k in Mexico, but whatever points she gains there will not be added until the end of Miami.
At the moment in the live rankings Gabi is due to rise to WR190 (she has a net -4 coming off, so with 1 more win this week, will be in credit), whilst Katie is going to fall out of the top 200 to WR207. Katie will likely need to get to at least the QF in Mexico to get back into the top 200. Gabi, quite incredibly, still has 3 1 pointers in her 16 counters, so still has room for some relatively easy upward progress.
Switch of surface; no cessation in the delivery of results.
In very short time, QF at $25K is suddenly almost 'routine'
Super work, again, on all fronts

Data I post, opinions I offer, 'facts' I assert, are almost certainly all stupidly wrong.
If Gabi can win here it would be the first time for a long time that we have seen a teenage British player (give or take a day or two) dominate a cohort of futures players since Kyle. Hopefully we will see Gaby step up and begin to make some decent progress at 60k from the get go.
We have been discussing Liam on another thread and his lack of weapons but decent all round game and the importance of developing the mental side to optimise his strengths and minimise the impact of the weaker areas of his game. Gabi unlike Kyle doesnt have a monster shot but general strength to her game, naturally more mobile and although I feel Kyle has an inner resilience that has allowed the mental side of his game to evolve I feel for Gabi that part of her game is innate. Not quite top 200 by 20 but pretty close top 100 by 22? I wouldnt bet against it.
