Good. Then that's her bit of 'good luck and nice story' over and done with. Time to revert to the form books and let Harriet take over.

That is mighty impressive, ruthless Tennis from Harriet, edging towards the top 250. If they do both get to the QF match up Harriet may be favourite. Having said that Laura sometimes wins when we dont expect her too and loses when we expect her to win. We could soon have 8 or 9 in the top 200 by grass season.

Wow, hold your horses, they are in danger of really galloping away !

Not saying it's impossible ( it's most certainly more than theoretically possible to get say 8 players all up to about 280 points and beyond by the grass court season ) and how good would that be, but as big asks go that's a bigggie, and from where we were not too long ago for just top 300 players even allowing for such combined significant progress.

For now just enjoying such a great start to the season by this progressive good of young and relatively young players, and hope they continue to rise. Some at least I am pretty sure will. And certainly all could progress a fair bit further in the relatively longer term.

JoKo, Hev, Naomi, Katie B, Gabi, Laura = 6
With Harriet and Katie Swan as the two next ones =8
And Katy D as a possible.
That's 10
Not to mention long shots who aren't actually that far off in standard.

Call it Wednesday afternoon optimism, but you can let those horses go, Jaggy ! No need to hold onto them

Would be great if Katy D managed it if she counts as 2

Anyway seriously, as in other threads I've certainly been following and enjoying their progress. And although my realistic side certainly suggests otherwise I'd absolutely love to see at least 8 there by the grass season.

Ahhhh - fair point, Mr Picky smile - I had got my Katies confused and didn't change it.

Anyway, 9 ...... that'll do smile

And you forgot about the 'surprise guest' - you've always got to leave one place at the table free for her !

If that unexpected happens, there should be room OK. I'd imagine that at least a couple of the named guests won't turn up even if they make admirable efforts to join the party.

I put the significant line in a slightly different place - direct acceptance into the next GS qualies - with somewhere around 250-260 points required. Looking at the confirmed points already acquired for 5 weeks time, from here...

live-tennis.eu/en/forecast-wta-ranking

Gabi - 260 should be good
KB - 252, maybe, but could do with a couple of match wins
Laura, 249, ditto
KD, 221, needs a (repeat) 25k RU
Harriet - 204, needs a (repeat) 25k tournament win

Jo + Hev MD, Naomi+Gabi almost certain qDAs, KB+Laura very likely, KD + HD entirely possible.

Harriets has had a few match points, another one now....

8 in the top 200 is very realistic. 6 is near certain Id say.

Im assuming Harriet has won 6-3 7-5 as ITF scores are stuck on match point and they now have Laura warming up. So halfway there to a guaranteed SF for us here.

Laura has been broken in the crucial 7th in the first set.
