RE: Week 9 - ITF ($15K) - Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt Hard

Emily needs every point. 2 points (net +1) would be a major boost.  She has 12  points coming off on 5th March. Hope she can go deep smile

Can Emily join Emily in a SF this week? Or will Emily be the last Emily standing.
In her QF, after a 26 point, 12 minute opening game, the Webley-Smith version is 0-1*

A pity, this Emily had a BP to bring the first set back to parity but didn't take it and then lost the game and set, so is now down 4-6.

So, it is Emily, and not Emily, that wins the title of last Emily standing, as this Emily falls 4-6 2-6 leaving the other other Emily as our only remaining Emily.
Next week: Will Katie or Katie out do Katy to be the top Katie?

Downhill from there relatively rapidly. Now Emily has gone and only Emily is left. As mentioned earlier this Emily is going to face a dilemma soon, as her ranking slides into the mid-600s next week. Getting into 25ks for singles will become that much harder, whilst for her doubles, she can only increase her points tally by playing in 25k tournaments (and above).

QF: WEBLEY-SMITH, Emily (GBR) 578 vs CENGIZ, Berfu (TUR) [7] 502 (CH:455 June 17) 18 yrs (JCH:39 Jan 16) 4-6 2-6

In Week 10, in Sharm, just to mention that Nadja Gilchrist has qualified and made the QFs. Nadja made a final not too long ago too, I believe.
Nadja is American but is based at Bath tennis centre so gets my support (if not playing a 'true' Brit). Well done to all at Bath.
