I am Edinburgh also! Although I used to live further north so it's at least 2 or 3 degrees warmer here than "back home" .

Nah, Granite City for me. I was in Glasgow a few years ago for 6 terrible months (not the city, the job) but ended up in Edin via Fife.

I'll register in the Scotfest too as a Perthshireian!

I went to Aberdeen once. It was dark all day and so cold I wore my pyjamas under my suit. Interesting to go to the real North East of Britain mind.

Perhaps, the closer Taco get to their culinary homeland, the stronger their powers grow

I consider Aberdeen to be the East of Scotland along with Dundee, Glasgow being the West. Edinburgh isnt Scotland for me its basically a town for tourists filled with English and Tories. More culture in a pot of yoghurt as he saying goes.

Edinburgh is a cracking city, I have enjoyed it every time I have visited for work and pleasure.

The density of Torries isnt immediately obvious, I mean its hardly Chiswick or Tunbridge Wells but must be good in terms of the capacity to raise taxes. On a cultural front I wouldnt do Edinburgh down purely on the basis its easier to find a battered Mars bar in Dundee than Leith.

Across the Atlantic Tara has lost her first set on a TB. Neither player is proving exactly steady on serve. Score so far 6-7(4) 3-2*

Not to be, from a promising position in the second set, Tara lost the last 3 games of the match in a row. Haas gains her Brit revenge after her loss in the same round to Katie S last week.

To all our Scottish correspondents, especially in the Central Belt, take care tonight and over the next couple days: first three day red Met Office warning I can remember in about a decade.
Best Wishes.
