Hmm, it appears that the WTA has quietly extended the not taking off of points ( so presumably extending the use of 'better of' ) although the WTA site's "rankings explained" makes no mention of this going on past 2020.
The ATP announced some time ago that they were extending 'better of' until March and so have also have not taken off 2020 week 1 points.
I see no negative change in players' ranking points after week 1, and certainly singles players such as Heather appeared due to drop points, and the live ranking sites have been taking these points off ( Heather's Abu Dhabi 2021 points will add after week 2 given it's a sort of week 1/2 tournament ).
IMO a sensible move if that's what's happening and continuing until at least March. But gee, where's the communication?! And are the players any the wiser?
Err ... or there's a mistake in the 11/01 rankings update and they did mean to take 2020 week 1 points off.
There was an announcement that points would start to come off after Miami 11/3/21. This was well hidden and, as you say, is not mentioned in their rankings explanation.
Is Coric live rankings working for anyone? Not sure if it's just me. Wish the WTA would show counting scores!
No, just sits there and says processing. Hasn't worked properly for a while, so I guess they won't sort it out until tournament points are added - next week maybe.
Hopefully the new TNNS live app will fill some of the holes, once all the features are enabled. It looks promising,

Not sure if this is the best place to post but Karola Bejenaru who has just won the W15 doubles in Monastir moved to Belfast at a young age though I'm not sure if she still lives there.

Still seems to be living there but plays as Romanian. Has won a few 15k doubles titles over the years, including one with Freya Christie in 2015.

Just thought given how Lily Miyazaki and Jo Garland usually get covered as UK residents she might be worth mentioning as well.
