I see Ed is playing with Thomas Corrie.  Would that be his brother by any chance?

Very decent score by Anton Mat.

And congrats to Alexis - that must be one of his top results.

Good effort from Anton 30/5/2001 #1421 only a couple of still 16 year olds and 3 2001s in the top 20 ATP senior ranking not yet 18 at the beginning of the year.

Sergy Formin (UZB) 1/2/2001 at #7 Ranked 1000 so now 17
Nicolas Alvarez Varoma (ESP) 18/5/2001 at #11 Ranked 1128
Govind Nanda (USA) 17/2/2001 at #18 Ranked 1240

Great to see him being so competitive with a guy Ranked well inside the top 1000

Anton's match was the pick of the matches. Almost three hours of excellent tennis and Anton had chances to win the match. Anton is excellent defensively has a big serve, when he gets it in, and has a nice touch around the net. Had lots of break points, but didn't convert many. Needs to work on his mental strength, increase his first serve percentage and be more aggressive in attack.
Never seen Alexis before - looked very solid, decent all round game, but nothing outstanding.
Evan had an easy win against a very average Mr. Binding and looks too good to play qualifying regularly.
Jack FH has a good touch at the net and was a close match with Josh until Josh twisted badly and seemed to strain a hamstring
Very impressed with George Houghton who won very easily - nice flashing backhand
Samm Butler walked into a good player and matched him in the second set. Again first time I've seen him. Whippy forehand and likes to serve and volley

Main draw is out - 2 all GB matches and a decent draw for James Ward

Yes, though I would have hoped to see our 3 highest ranked players spread about more ie hope for Ed to take care of his own business or at least the other Brits in his section not to include both Lloyd and Jonny.

Hope it is a good first match for James before a potential R2 match with (2) Yannick Mertens.

Not a good draw for helping towards much more than one quarter finalist in a home 25K.

Interesting that Marcus is teaming up with Scott here. After Luke Bambridges comments regarding maybe teaming up with Jonny I wonder if Marcus could be tempted to go full time doubles with Scott on the Challenger Tour. Hasn't done much in singles recently so Might be tempted.

I'm willing to wager that he's cursing him even more now:  Sijsling won by 3 & 4!  furious
