Week 7 - ATP 250 - Long Island Open - New York, USA (indoor hard)

Really sad that they had to face each other so soon. Not really sure who I wanted to win, but well done Liam.

Hangover from the DC?

Possibly but Liam always seems to play well against fellow lefties.  He is now 3-1 up in the H2H with Cam.

Maybe but Liam did upset Cam last time (in Vegas in October) too

Well done to Liam. Now just 6 more wins here to take out Cam's GB #3 position

I'm really pleased for Liam!   And $3k in the bag which will cover the week's expenses. Next up is Adrian Menendez-Maceiras, WR 128.   AMM is hardly in a rich vein of form, having not beaten a top 200 player since the US Open qualies.

Go Liam!

 Great stat.

I was hoping he'd get the win, but agree that its a real shame that they should have to play each other.

It would feel like a real letdown if he doesnt make it, so hope that S Mc's stat is still intact after today.

is it being streamed anywhere?

Given that Liam  only entered qualifying as an Alt, doesn't this mean he would be last choice?  Or was there a rule change in recent years?  Something tells me different categories of tournament have different rules as well.

I followed the first set on live score. Liam got off to a flyer and went 3-0 up.  He lost his serve to love, but held a set point on AMM's serve at 5-4, but went on to lose his own serve in the next game and then the set....

Menéndez has drawn the seventh seed, Steve Johnson.  I doubt Liam could have beaten him!
