The doubles draw is up now and only Katy D is entered this week. That could also partly do with flights across the continent, since I imagine both Gabi and Laura are later arrivals in Perth. Katy is playing with Kimberly Birrell, I see a German born 19 yr old Australian national. They play tomorrow against the second seeds. Although the OOP is up for tomorrow with a few first round singles matches, the singles draw is not yet up, and no Brits are due to play singles tomorrow either.

Having just posted, the singles draw has now arrived. Katy and Gabi both play opponents close to their rankings, with Gabi and Karman at career highs. Both Katy and Laura have set backs from Lexington KY in a 2016 $50k tournament to reverse.

Hoping Katy can get her show on the road here and all 3 can chalk up R1 wins :)

Gabi's 1st round looks intriguing. Hope it's not a potential banana skin.

At 25k level every game is a banana skin - hopefully Gabi can continue her excellent form of last week smile

Good work so far, down under.

Laura has Lu, who beat her in Toyota at the end of last season. (Tara beat her in week 1, 2017)
Gabi has an early chance to retcon a potential Fed Cup opponent in Maya Hibi

Good finish from Katy to take the last 4 games.
3 wins, and 2 chances next to profile possible Japanese outsode Fed Cup opponents. I presume such intel would get fed back if either Hibi or Hozumi were selected; not that I assume this under the LTA, but with Annie K there, and Judy before her, at least we could presume common sense on their parts.
