Week 6, ITF 25k, Loughborough, Great Britain, Indoor, Hard

Out of interest, was Connie perrin a USA player recently and just swapped to Switzerland, or is my memory failing me?

If she was, she hid the fact very well. Born in Neuchâtel, didn't play in a US tournament until she was 23.

No other references. Couldn't see any other Conny/Connie or Perrin/Perrine's that you might have been confusing her for, either.

I'm slightly worried that Nell's game will make it difficult for her to go deep. Her workrate on the court is immense and she will struggle if she has to play long back to back matches. It's great to watch though...

I'm sure she will adapt if she continues to face that challenge. Today will have been a chastening experience for her, exactly one of those moments when you either learn positively, and absorb the lessons to reach the next level... or become discouraged and fall back somewhat. Her stats from today are interesting. She actually served reasonably first serve getting 65% in and winning half, but then won only 2/14 second serves. But where she really lost out is in return of serve. Jesika served 85% first serves, won 81% and won 6/6 second serves. I can't find her height following a quick search, but pictures show her as a big strong woman, which is what I expected, and aged 23 I'm sure she is powerful and hits the ball hard, probably one of those who if they have their radar right can probably blow you off the court quickly. I would expect Nell to be working on her return of serve after this match, and how to deal with stronger, more powerful players.

Guess got to keep the Taco finances in a decent state. She seems to be the main bread winner these days. But yes prefer not at the expense of Brits.

Unfortunately 4/19 is beaten by 3/9, as Badosa levels. 6-3 4-6

Differing fortunes:
Freya goes down, 4-6 3-6

Eden though comes close to matching her career best win with a fine defeat of last weeks champion, 6-3 4-6 3-6
Badosa Gibert was coming back strong, but Eden dug in and came through in great fashion.
