But when there are partnerships involved ( their existing ones and say having to form one with Jamie ), apart from the on the day thing anyway and two TBs at that, and the Davis Cup play-off being 7 months away ( you can see where I'm going with this ), it really doesn't add much at all.

Anyway, to add to the #2 seeds in Dom+, the top seeds Dodig & Ram and the #3 seeds are out. Hopefully the Skupskis can turn this into a really good week.

Skupski x2 play chardy and fabrice Martin tomorrow, tough match I feel.

As an aside, Gasquet v Herbert and Tsonga v Mahut also on tomorrow. I plan to become French later this week, don't you just love those matches.

Good win, pleasing. Pouille is always talented, if he turns up, but Lamasine I dont really know. Feels like a strong opportunity to reach a final?

Neil Skupski's live rank is up to 59 now, which will be a CH. Closing in on Dom who is WR 44. It is going to be interesting to see how these Brit #2 doubles ranks proceed over the next few months, and whether anyone else decides to have a look in too.

The big target for the Skupski brothers is to get their ranking high enough for direct entry to the grand slams, which is where the money is. There have been on the cusp for the last couple of years. Another win or two this week would be a big help.

Live rankings is showing Neal at #56 ( a clear further CH ) and he will be top 50 if they win the title.
