That's a career-best win for Alicia, beating her previous of 474 by a big margin.

Yes, and unfortunately to get a solitary point she will have to do it again as she now plays the #3 q seed, Kimberley Zimmerman WR:312

And although it is not there yet, just wait till you see the layout for the main doubles draw blob - unless it's corrected in the meantime!

The draws are falling apart - sort it out ITF... actually, they are much better than the WTA.

On the court... for each of Nell, Ali & Danielle to take a set off their illustrious opponents is really very encouraging. Perhaps throwing them in to the deep end will prove a useful decision after all.
If ever there were productive and encouraging losses then those are three.

I know there's no second place prize but the scores posted by Nell and Danielle, against top 360 players, are very encouraging. Ali's too, really.

The rankings I used were correct Peter, they were taken from the WTA site, 29 Jan.

Yes some very encouraging looking scoreline indeed. Good efforts.

Looks a good set of WCs in the circumstances with WCs going to the remaining GB top 23 / WR top 750 players ( Emily App and Alicia ) so that I aasume none available to play here have missed out on anything, and some good youngsters with a little north of border bias. It is a pity that some of the lower ranked ( WR 1000 plus ) of our 33 ranked players had no chance to even take to the court. All the best to these still on the list for less loaded Loughborough.

I have always used the old rankings for the qualifying rounds and the new ones for the main draw. If I post the main draw before the new rankings come out I update them to the new ones when they appear.

Oh ok, I understand Peter. I have just used current rankings, which for the most part for qualifiers would be the old rankings, but just this week the qualifiers only started on the Monday, so the new ones were available. I updated them to current when it was mentioned for instance that Alicia had taken out her career high best win, since it seemed to me that calculation should be based on both her current ranking and the current ranking of her opponent.

The doubles main draw is out, which confirms who is in the singles. Jodie and Freya are playing together (WC), TaCo are playing together this week (3rd seeds), Emily A and Danieka Borthwick are playing together (WC) - Danieka we last saw playing doubles in the US last year, as she has been a coach at once of the colleges there, up in the NE if I recollect,* and then Ali Collins and Maia are playing together (WC).

* She was an Assistant Coach at Columbia during 2016-17 and at Wake Forest, NC from August 17
